Great chess setSep 14, 2009

Product is excellent quality. When opened the box lays flat. The magnets are strong enough to hold pieces even when turned upside down. The size makes manipulating the pieces easy. This set gets moved around alot when active games are going on, but never has a piece been out of place.

Love the magnetic part!Jun 27, 2008
By R. Colwell My 2 girls are just learning chess. This was the perfect set -- the magnetic pieces don't get lost or fall off, even when we're playing outside. It's the right size too, and easy to pack up and store -- no need for a box, since the pieces fit right inside the board. Love it!

Strong Magnets and Stylish PiecesJan 17, 2011
By Five Red Apples For those looking for a magnetic chess set, this is about as good as it gets, as the pieces will not move even if the board is held perpendicular to the ground or upsidedown. The pieces are wooden and stylish (not too fancy, but more of the simple Staunton style). They are a little light, though, not quite brittle but certainly not strong. This is one reason why I gave it 4 and not 5 stars. Another reason is that they are also ever so-slightly oversized for the board, but it's nothing major, and perhaps some people prefer it, but aesthetically it slightly bugs me.
The board is nicely crafted and I have no complaints. It has a felt lining, without individual spaces for each piece, which I prefer for the speed of putting away and because the pieces aren't works of art that need individual compartments.

Good chess set for travel and homeOct 20, 2009

Very nice chess set for being a travel chess set. The magnets work well. I can tip the board upside down and all but one piece (one of the queens) will stay in place. You do need a hard, flat surface to play on, because the board will tend to fold up.

Good but not greatDec 25, 2009
By Lori Schwartz Well i got this for Christmas and was very excited to play with it, but the set was missing a King. This made me really upset. Now im returning it and hopefully getting one with all pieces. Also the magnets work great except one knight falls off when turned upside down. The magnet must be weak on that piece. Overall this is a great chess set, it's a little small but i like it. I can't wait for my new one to be delivered.
